What You Need to Know

Is your event suitable for all ages?

Our events are run in accordance with UKA rules. you must be at least 17 to take part in the half marathon and 15 to take part in the 10k. There is no upper age limit. Anyone with a good level of fitness can complete the route. A full copy of the UKA rules can be found HERE

Can I run with my dog?

 As a UKA registered event which includes sections of the course which take place on open roads we are unable to allow dogs to run with you. This is in with UKA rules which can be found here.

Can I run with headphones

As a UKA registered event which includes sections of the course which take place on open roads we are unable to allow "in ear" headphones. You may however run with devices that work by bone conduction. This is in with UKA rules which can be found here.

What is your refund policy?

Entries cannot be exchanged or refunded after purchase unless the event is cancelled. If we cancel the event (for any reason) you will have the option to defer or receive a refund of the entry fee miuns the admin fee. Personal arrangements including travel, accommodation or hospitality relating to the Event which have been arranged by you are at your own risk. Liability for the cancellation or rescheduling of an Event will be limited to the refund as set out in these terms and conditions. We will not be responsible for any loss, theft or damage of your personal belongings, other than caused as a result of our negligence or other breach of statutory duty.

You say the event raises money for good causes. How do you choose the good causes you support?

Once we have cleared all current expenses and debts and ensured we have a sufficient reserve fund to cover the following years event, all remaining funds are made available to local good causes which are prioritised in the following order: 

Donations to organisations which voluntarily assist in the Otmoor Challenge (eg Army Cadet Force).

Donations to organisations within, or closely associated with, the Parish of Horton cum Studley.

Other charities and good causes associated with the residents of Horton cum Studley.

Are there any water stations?

Yes there are four water stations for the Half Marathon and one for the 10k. They are located in Murcott, Charlton, Noke, and Beckley. The Beckley water station covers both the Half and the 10k.
